SAN ANTONIO, TX – A tragic accident occurred Thursday morning when a pickup truck struck and killed a man outside his home in West Side San Antonio. According to police, the driver of the truck, a man in his late 50s, suffered a kind of medical episode. And that medical episode, combined with a truck, kills a man.

Due to this, he lost control of the vehicle. While the driver, in a silver Ford F-150, was heading down Picoso Street just before the truck accident. He drove near the intersection of Colima Street, according to Doug Greene, a San Antonio police officer.

Truck Driver Loses Consciousness, Kills Man

According to Greene, after the man fell unconscious, the truck accelerated and then jumped onto the curb. That is where it hit the man, in his mid-60s, who apparently had just arrived home. After plowing through a power line and more than one fence, the truck finally came to a stop in a neighboring yard.

The police have not identified either of the two men involved in the incident. It is also unclear exactly how fast the pickup truck was going during the time of the accident. Obviously, the man who was driving the truck wouldn’t know how fast it was going, as he was unconscious. Therefore, we may never know exactly how fast it was going at the time of the tragic accident.

However fast the truck was going, according to Greene, it was enough to cause a “violent impact” when hitting the man. Currently, police are investigating the crash. And, officers claim that the driver remains cooperative with police during the investigation. After the horrible accident, police closed off the intersection to continue processing the crime scene. Investigators are still looking into the incident and will make a more thorough report in the next few weeks.
