Genesis is a Korean luxury automaker. They have the GV70 compact crossover and the X coupe concept on the rise. But now there may be the electric version of the former. And to add for extra measure, there very well could be a performance-oriented model joining the future lineup. The likelihood of where the brand could expand in the following year is both mysterious and exciting. Ricky Lao, the new product planning director, is excited regarding the details about the 2022 GV70. They’re also talking about where the brand will expand beyond the future. A Genesis that is performance-based may be exactly what the brand needs. This could be due to competition from Hyundai showing some dangerous moves in it’s play-by-play.

The Genesis X Concept happens to be an electric grand touring car. It’s actually yet another attempt on the brand’s part to test for a sporty model in their luxury line. This is due to the Genesis Essentia concept showing off original plans to make for a more sporty model.

Meanwhile, the Genesis EG70 would immediately be the first vehicle in the world that has a biometric fingerprinting scanner. What a concept! This will give drivers the immediacy they need to turn on the SUV with their fingerprint. Despite not having the key on them. Lao has made it known that driver are going to be able to lock and unlock the GV70 with a smartphone on them as well. Inside, the fingerprint scanner can be used on the steering wheel to initiate the car and adjust settings after creating a profile.

The scanner will give the driver an ability to do other things as well. Such as bring in the Valet mode. With high hopes Genesis is looking forward to the biometric technology to allow for the in-car purchases like paying for gas, coffee or parking. The dealer network may be a little unsteady, but things are coming together for Genesis, surely.
